Bangkok Trip

after 5 yrs since my last visit to the land of smiles, im finally packing for the trip which i've been looking forward to since july. special thanks to vivien for the shopping tips, it was very helpful in the planning of my itinerary. =)

the trip could actually be summarised into 3 words - shopping, shopping and (still) shopping. i wun be bothered to blog abt it had it not been for the spooky hotel i stayed at and also having taken some photos, may as well rite? so we set off with 2 almost empty luggages and came back with it practically overspilling. and with poor ol' me almost crippled too. it was excruciating. at some point, i swear i could hear my legs protesting, screaming in pain for me to stop. but no, my mind kept pushing them to the limits, telling them : just 1 more shop, 1 LAST shop. which often led to the next, and the next.....

the only regret is not my physical limitations though, but that of my funds. yes, it's not bottomless. S$600 couldnt quite make me the shopping queen i wanted to be. not even close cos there's just too much, too much, to buy. you girls shd noe the anguish im toking abt.

anyway, i'll get on to the spooky part of the trip now. we had wanted to get a cheap and decent place for lodging and my sis' fren actually recommended this place in sukhumvit. after checking in, we tot it was really pretty decent. it was spacious, the bathroom was clean, the security was tight and the cafe served really good food. i admit i was quite freaked out when the lights went out twice when we were trying to check out the room. good thing the bellboy was still there and got the lights fixed.

so no problem thus far. we went out for the day and came back at nite for our rest. the room had a double and single bed. my mum took the single bed and sis and i shared the double. so there we were in bed, getting ready to fall aslp when both my sis and i tot the bathroom lights were getting dimmer and dimmer. we had shut the bathroom door but allowed some light through the gaps. thinking abt it now, this could have affected my sis cos she had this vivid dream that a guy in white singlet was crawling towards my mum from the foot of her bed. and in the dream, she was trying to wake me up and screaming at the guy to get off my mum's bed. and apparently her screams woke my mum from her slp and she had to shake my sis out from her dream, who was still screaming and crying. me? i woke up briefly from the commotion and went back to slp as soon as i woke. -_-ll

the second incident happened on the second nite. jus before we turned in, we heard a knock on the door. dismissing it as a mistake, we went to slp. now i truly believe the bad will come to you the more frightened you are of them. after i shut my eyes trying to fall aslp, i saw whitish figure(s) walking near the side of my mum's bed. the more i tried to make it go away, the more apparent it became. i turned my back against that side of the room, chanting, not daring to open my eyes and forced myself to get to slp. the next morning we requested to change rooms but were told the only rooms available were on the smoking floors. so there you go, two more nites stuck in room 3305, wondering wat horrids will come our way.

ok, tt was abit dramatizing. we were actually exhausted from the shopping that we promptly fell aslp once our heads touched the pillows.

ok, probably only me. hah! cos mum and sis actually had to take slping pills to slp in peace. -_-ll

but sometimes even slping pills dun work. the last nite of our stay, mum had in her slp, felt someone touched her hand! omg! touched as in placing the "hand" in my mum's palm. in the words of my mum, "like shaking hands to bid goodbye" and even though she felt tt, all she did was fling the hand away and went back to slp. -_-lll i mean if it were me, man, i cun even imagine wat i'll do.

quite a freaky experience huh? ok, pics here to help take the chills away! =D
